Art Town

Reno may not be progressive in many ways but for a small town they really try to bring some culture to the place; one of the ways they do this is with Art Town.  During the month of July they bring a bunch of artists and musicians to town and do concerts and dancing in the park, art shows around town, and theater and other displays throughout all of Reno and most of the events are free!

Kevin went to a movie in the park.  I guess the movie was powered by bicycles and he had to take a turn peddling to keep GhostBusters going!  He doesn't take pictures, sorry!

There was a fire show and we saw the statues that would later be lit on fire but we were there to early to see them on fire.  The metal structures were still really neat to look at.

River Rafting

We did one last river trip before the baby comes.  It was a little scary in some of the rapids and Kevin fell out once which scared me because he was the one rowing...oh and I was concerned for his safety. 

Unfortunately, by the end the raft was losing air and we later found out a hole was torn in the bottom and we were taking on water we couldn't see or bail out.  But overall it was a fun an successful trip.  Goodbye Challenger, you were a good boat for a couple seasons!

Kevin's Garden

I usually do a pot garden in the yard and grow a variety of vegetables.  I decided not to do the garden this year because I didn't want to be responsible for watering it everyday.  Kevin was bummed so he said he would water the plants if I planted them.  He has done a great job!

Baby shower

 One of my friends from college is due about 2 weeks before me with a little girl.  It was a small affair up in South Lake Tahoe and one of the few baby showers I have actually been able to attend.  It wasn't even torture, I actually had a great time and she has some great friends and family.

She is about 4 inches shorter than me and a friend made us belly bump, so I had to crouch.

28 weeks

Indiana is going through a huge growth spurt.  I feel my skin stretching and my belly button has finally popped out.  My bird tattoo is also becoming very elongated.  I am becoming tired again but my work has me doing light duty and I am in much less pain now.  Indy is moving less but when he does it is more aggressive and makes me slightly sick.  I feel like I am in a rollercoaster ride sometimes.  Last week he finally had the hiccups and now it is almost every morning at 5-6 a.m., bump, bump, bump!  He is really making sure I am working on getting less sleep.  But even with the 3 H's, I love this little man so much it hurts!

in Tahoe for her graduate work, so we got this in the mail the other day.

Sippees

A new children's store opened up in our neighborhood and it is very posh and cute.  What makes it great is it carries used and new clothes!  We bought this shirt because...who could resist.

Plus Cora kept herself busy in the phone booth the whole time!  She was very busy calling people and doing business like her mommy!

Bug and Butterflies

Kevin and Cynthia, our amazing friends that envisioned this butterfly house and actually made it happen.  They now have a partnership with the Discovery Museum and a community outreach program called bugs and butterflies (nevadabugs.org).  I was very impressed by their accomplishments this year and cannot wait to see what they have in store for the future.
