Silent night

We decorated the tree tonight and had hot cider.   Christmas music was playing and Indy was actually really involved.  He mostly ripped down the ornaments that we hung but he wanted to try to put them back.  He enjoyed unpacking them and I have about ten bell ornaments that he loved.  He tried to carry around as many as he could the whole night.

It was an awesome night.  We laughed and played.  Once the ornaments were hung we turned out all the lights and listened to Silent Night while watching the tree as a family.  Then Kevin played O Christmas Tree and Indy and I danced in front of the tree and he layed his head on my shoulder and hugged me tight.  It has been one of my most favorite family moments so far.  The moment already brought me to tears but then Indy lifted his head and pointed to his daddy and grunted.  So Kevin stood and joined us for our Christmas dance.  It was a perfect moment.

Christmas tree

I have been wanting to cut down a tree for the last couple years but we always miss the chance to get a permit.  This year we were on top of our game and got the permit early.  We drove to the closest pot with Indy and the dogs and searched for the perfect tree.  What we found was the tree that works.  It was close enough to the car we wouldn't have to carry it too far and it was a different species but the types we wanted were too far up the hill and Indy wasn't feeling well.
We hiked up the hill and had to help our fat old dogs over some trees then realized there was no way to get the tree down without risking injury .  We found a cute little tree and Kevin cut it down.
Well, it looks cute and small in the forest.
Once we got it in the living room it was a different story.  The tree was short but stout.  So we took the chair to the garage and cut all the beaches off the backside and shoved it against the wall!  Not it fits fine.  Indy was asleep in my arms on the couch.  He woke to find the tree lot with lights.
He was very excited to see the tree.  He was babbling at it and pointing to all the lights.  It was a great moment, I wish Kecin has been here.

The laundry basket

One day I was doing a load of laundry and Indy was attempting to help unsuccessfully.  I decided to push him around the house in the laundry basket to distract him and it worked too well.  He will find that basket wherever it is in the house and set it in the kitchen, where it moves the easiest and fastest.  He will then find you and pull your finger to the basket and point expectantly then grunt at you.  Why do I create these games?!!!

The cards

Kevin let Indy loose in the birthday section of the cards and this is what he picked out.
Kevin said it was perfect so that he could just add the three.  Indy has been carrying that and his Thanksgiving card around.

Zep and Indy

So cute!  Enough said!
Arm around my bud
Kisses on the nose
Lounging in my pup chair

And watchin Pooh Bear together
Everytime we think the dogs are huge pains we watch Indy with them
And realize how much he loves them.

Bouncing birthday

We went to a birthday party at a bounce house place.  I thought Indy might be too going but he had a great time.  They had some cars, the bouncers, pizza, and goody bags.
There was one with a slide but I don't have that picture.
Digging in his toy bag.  Thanks Raven for such a good party.  Happy Birthday Connor!

First dentist appt.

Indy had his first dentist appointment today.  He did amazingly well.  I was surprised because he hadn't had a nap.  He was very pleased to just hang out in the waiting area where there was a large wooden house and a room with a ton of toys.
He spent his whole time in the house.  When we got to the back he got to pick his own toothbrush before heading to the room.  When she cleaned his teeth he was very still and she scraped his teeth and he was a champ.  She then warned me most kids cry when the use the cleaning took because of the noise and the vibration.  He didn't even flinch.  I was so proud.  She was very impressed and I told her he loves brushing his teeth and we have been doing it since around 3 months (before teeth).  He then got an exam and his teeth look great.  The dentist gave him a flouride treatment.  He was so well behaved I felt like the proudest mommy ever to have such a brace and good little man!

Fall leaves

The weather really got cold last night and the trees decided to drop their leaves.  It was a fall playground outside.

Indy's friend Kieran came out to play.  Both boys bundled in their warm clothes with cherry noses looked very cute.

The weather and leaves are making me feel very festive.  Kevin won't let me decorate for Xmas year though.

Trying beer

Indy tried some ginger beer which is just ginger ale but this looks kind of incriminating.  He wanted me but his face was hilarious!

My bike

Indy knew cavalry what to do with his bike the minute I built it.  He still has trouble balancing and it is a little tall but otherwise he is really into it.

More intentional smile

It never gets old...

Spoons and straws

Indy has really began to master forks, spoons, and now straws.  He really just played with the kid spoons and forks.  So my friend suggested giving him real forks and spoons and boom he was using utensils.
Eating cereal with milk!!!  Yeah!
Then this morning he went to the kitchen and brought me a juice box.  I thought he just wanted to play with the straw but he was insistent with the box.  I put the straw in and he started sucking way!  I was so shocked I let him drink a whole juice box.  I guess a special treat is in order for learning to use a straw.

First birthday

We didn't celebrate Indy's birthday because of the HFM.  We decided to give him our presents and put him in his birthday shirt a couple days after so we could have some time as a family before the party (which we hope isn't cancelled due to his illness!). He was still pretty feverish but he loved his kitchen.  He got a mitt and soft ball from his daddy and some moraccas.  Happy first birthday baby.

Dancing, like always!

My new ride

We finally were able to see my sister and nieces now that Indy is better.  They gave him his birthday present and he was a wild man.  He loves crawling in and out on the wrong side of the car.
Courtney was sitting in one of the cars for a while, content as always!

The park

The park near our house isn't great for little kids but Indy makes it work.  It is getting colder and we need to squeeze in outside play as much as possible in the coming weeks.

Bath pens

Indy got some bath markers for his birthday and we broke them out the other night.  We bagan coloring each other and Indy went to town on my face.
I began to worry half way through that this might not come off all the way and I had to work the next day.  Luckily it was no problem and they washed right away. It was a fun experience and Indy and I were laughing pretty hard.  Well, once my face got so colored Indy started to just stare at me a little bewildered.  I kept saying,"it is still me baby, you did this."  Love that kid!

Carving pumpkins

He was very excited to get his pumpkin.  We walked to the store and picked them out.  When we got home we kept trying to pick the pumpkin it up.  At one point he was straining so hard his face was very red and he kept making his mouth thin.

He really liked the stickers.  We helped him in some places and in other you can tell he had complete creative freedom.

Daddy being silly with Indy.

I wasn't sure the stickers would let Indy participate but it was a great time.  He loved sticking the stickers and only took a bite out of one.  We got four different faces and had a wonderful time.
