Food truck Fridays

We went to the food trucks at the park tonight and met our friend Sarah.  Sarah is very nervous around babies and Indy loves her!  She was so happy that he liked her and tonight he launched into her arms which he does to very few people.  Sarah is the one who made him the bibs he is wearing.
Indy and I both got vegan grilled cheese sandwiches with goat cheese but I got him a plain sandwich and mine had tomatoes and an arugula pesto mix.  Unfortunately, Indy thought my sandwich was better so he ate it and I got any leftovers from both sandwiches.  But I was happy he was game to eat at all since he is getting more picky.

Art Paws

We took the dogs and Indy to art paws today.  It is an event put on for art town to celebrate dogs.  We made paw and hand prints and went swimming in a pool. We saw some pretty funny dogs and crazy dog owners!
Mohawk dog
Diaper dog
Bug dog
And the wizard of oz dog!
These were for the dogs but whatever!

And the kissing booth!

Grandma and Grandpa visit

Grandma and Grandpa Badik came to visit and brought Great Grandma Joyce!   It was a short but good trip.  Unfortunately Indy and I got sick and the last day we had to miss Virginia City but we had a great day hiking the day before.
Indy was a little shy at first but Grandma has the finesse and he was eating out of her hands in no time...literally.

We went on a hike to Spooner Lake and Indy did really well in the backpack carrier.

There is Kevin probably talking about some plant!

Indy even took an hour nap on Kevin's back.

At this point we were all wishing we were in a carrier.  It was hot but we cooled off with a nice picnic lunch afterwards.  Good hike!

Indy begging for waffles

Begging for waffles, thanks Mandy!

Anniversary breakfast

It is our second anniversary and thanks to the Badiks we had a wonderful day.  We don't always have a lot of time together as a family due to our schedules and definitely not time alone.  We all went to breakfast as a family this morning them went to a movie together for the first time since Indy has been born.  My sister was nice enough to watch him and we had a great day.

Indy got his very own Mickey Mouse pancake and we got huge platters of food!  Yum!
Thank you again Mike and Jean for your amazing generosity.  We couldn't have had a wonderful day of going out without you!  We did also get to do one thing that we can always do, and that was share a dance to our wedding song at the end of the day.

Banjo

Indy loves the guitar so Kevin has begun showing him banjo too.  As usual Indy loves the music.

Literary art crawl

Rather than a pub crawl Art town hosted a literary crawl at the bookstore and a few local pubs and art galleries.  At each location you could get drinks or food and hear a book reading.  It was fun but we picked a few duds at first but the last women read her poetry and it was amazing. I am really not a poetry person but she was great and it made me laugh and tear up.  She read a poem about her nephew, Joe and Godzilla and it really touched me.  It reminded me of Indy and how fun it is to experience life through the eyes of a child.
Lori came with me and we walked together through midtown.  Lori pointed out a neat treed and I told her I also love these trees so we took a picture underneath to mark the moment.
Great Saturday!  ( except Indy had a fever again and may be getting sick again...or maybe he has never gotten better, poor baby.)

Arttown 2014

Due to Indy's bedtime and the extreme heat we haven't made it to any art town events yet.  So I got a group of friends together and went to the Basque festival today.  It was a bust!  There were only there sales booths and the food wasn't even basque.  So we made the best of it and took the kids in the river.
Of course they liked that way better than the basque festival anyway.  We left with four sopping wet children and five happy parents because all those kids were going to take great naps!  (I got a two hour break!)

Patagonia party

Kevin had his first work event at Patagonia.  They had a BBQ with food trucks and bounce houses.  It was pretty awesome and there was free food, booze, and games!  Can't go wrong there...the only problem is, we didn't know anyone.  So we had our own little picnic and played with a large beach ball that Indy loved.

What a goober!
Hopefully next party we won't be the awkward people in the corner wishing we has a friend.  ; )

Noodle nose

Indy has been pretty easy to feed once we realized he didn't want puréed baby food.  He pretty much tried anything and we usually just feed him whatever we are eating.  I didn't have dinner made the other night so he got his first taste of Mac n cheese.  He was shoveling it in so fast that the noodle in his nose didn't even phase him!
