Carving pumpkins

He was very excited to get his pumpkin.  We walked to the store and picked them out.  When we got home we kept trying to pick the pumpkin it up.  At one point he was straining so hard his face was very red and he kept making his mouth thin.

He really liked the stickers.  We helped him in some places and in other you can tell he had complete creative freedom.

Daddy being silly with Indy.

I wasn't sure the stickers would let Indy participate but it was a great time.  He loved sticking the stickers and only took a bite out of one.  We got four different faces and had a wonderful time.

First Cake

Indy isn't too sure about this cake situation and really didn't like all the singing.  Isaac on the other hand is eyeing that cake with some intensity.
We decided to try giving him cake again at home in his high chair.  We got a very different response than at his party.

He is still figuring out what it is..

first taste and all bets were off.  he shoved that whole piece in his mouth!

Yep, he is licking his fingers.

This is his new smile.  He sees the camera now and makes a cheesy smile with all his teeth and gums showing.  I have been calling this his intentional smile.

but in the end I think he liked the cake.

Maiden voyage

Indy got a wagon for his birthday from the Badik grandparents and we put it together today.  Indy was having a great time with Kevin building it but oh was he stoked when he got in it.
This reminds me of a picture from when I was a child.
Riding around the living room.
We took it to go carve pumpkins at the Van Dellen's.  We are loving this thing already!  Plus it folds up for easy storage.  Great buy!  Years of good times to be had.  Plus Jean, he almost fell out when i didn't buckle him in and he stood up while walking.  He was trying to stick to tradition.  Birthday photos to come soon!  I have to download them.

The worst birthday present

Indy got hand foot and mouth disease for his birthday.  Although this is a very common illness for small children, Indy got an especially bad case.  His gums are so swollen two of his four upper teeth have disappeared and his face has sores all over.  He keeps bleeding and smells awful.  It is so sad to watch him go through this but the scariest part was when he got a 106 degree fever and I had to get in a bath at midnight with him.  I thought we were headed to the ER but he slowly cooled down to 103.  I was shaking and crying.  Super scary mommy moment!
You can barely see the tip of his teeth.
Poor kiddo has sores all over his gums, on his tongue, and along the back of his throat.  Send healing thoughts our way.

The hose

Indy discovered the hose while I unloaded the car.  He looked so happy playing with it until I noticed him drinking out of it.  Sure enough by the time I made it over he was soaked.

Tailgating

First tailgate and he was all about the football, corn hole, and the burgers.  He is such a dude!  He was getting down to the music and all the ladies were loving him.
One proud daddy!
He is really into footballs lately...well any balls really.  He has an arm on him too.  He will be throwing those baseballs soon enough.

Feeding the pups

Indy was going to the food bins and pretending to get food out then putting it in the dogs bowls.
He even made sure each dog got some.

Stage two

The roof is complete and phase 1 of the painting has begun.
Kevin said it looks like a phone booth which made me sad.  We may change the colors.

Risky business

Jenn and Indy were dancing together in the living room and she put some shades on him.  She pointed out he looked like Tom Cruise in Risky Business with his sunglasses and diaper dancing in the living room.

Garage sale purchase

There is a little girl, probably about 4, selling her stuff down the street.  We walked over and Indy picked this out for $2.  He also liked the hockey stick but I put a veto on that bad boy.
I felt like he made a wise and economical purchase!

My little domestic kiddo

We are babysitting Cora and Courtney tonight and Indy is in heaven here.  Vacuum cleaners, kitchens, shopping cart!!!

Indy art

We got home yesterday to find a little surprise.  My Uncle Willie did a sidewalk chalk painting for Indy's birthday!  We walked up and down looking at it and all the colors.  Then I touched the chalk and painted our faces which Indy found very funny.
