Brushing my own teeth

Indy upgraded this morning to a big boy toothbrush.  He brushed his own teeth...well until mom took over.  He cried when I took the toothbrush away.  I am programming dental hygiene deep in this one!

Playing peekaboo

Indy was sitting down to eat and grabbed the rag and held it over his face.  I wasn't sure what he was doing then he pulled it down rapidly and smiled.  He wanted to play peekaboo.  We laughed and asked where he was repeatedly and he thought it was hysterical.

Daycare follow up 2

Indy is surrounded by so many girls all the time.  He hangs out with Rae, Ari, Abby, Cora, Courtney and now three girls at daycare.  The only little boy he is around is Emmet and we were just saying we need to meet people with babies that are boys so Indy has some male exposure.  Well, today there are two little boys at daycare and Wendy sent me a picture of Indy just being one of the guys!

Daycare follow up

I went to pick Indy up and I was so excited to get there.  He didn't even look up!  He was having too much fun.  I finally got his attention and I got a quick smile then back to playing.  I picked him up and he pushed away wanting to get back to all the fun.  Well, I guess he liked it because he is tuckered out and Wendy said he was a charmer.  We are so lucky to have found such an awesome place!

First day of daycare

Indy started daycare today with a wonderful woman named Wendy.  We found her through three friends who have also had their kids in her care.  We knew immediately she was the perfect person for Indy and I was pretty secure in our decision.  Then the actual morning came and I cried.  I have been feeling the hours creeping by and thought the day will never end when I got a text from Wendy!
She sent a picture of Indy and his new friends.  I just got done asking if it would be rude to call and see how things are going.  She is good!  Her text said hi mom and dad, I am having a great time, these girls love me!

Go Wendy!

Rehearsal party

Indy looked pretty dapper at the rain where they had the pre-wedding party.  His bow tie was a huge hit!  Too bad he peed all over his outfit after about five minutes.  Of course it was the one time all I had was an extra onsie and it was cold in there.  Then my cousins wife had the genius idea to wet the clothes then hold them under the hand dryer.  Worked like a charm and we got our family photo.
My dapper little man.
With Grandma Kohoutek
With Grandpa Long...nice face buddy.
Didn't even make it out of the parking lot!

Hey mom did you know

Hey mom and dad, "did you know there is a small moving creature in here?"  Indy discovered Andi the other day.  He has been pulling himself up on the trunk for a while and finally realized there is a turtle in the tank.
He was pretty intrigued for about ten minutes and in Indyland that is an eternity .

Going to the playoffs

Kevin had a late softball game the other night and I had already gone to bed before he got home.  I woke up with Indy the next morning and went to shower.  I set Indy on the ground and when I picked up the trash I noticed a bunch of bloody bandages and the peroxide was out.  When Kevin finally woke he had a small limp and was fully bandaged.  A couple days later the healing is coming along nicely.  I hope the game was worth that slide.  At least this was the winning game that put them into playoffs!
Kevin is enbarrassed and hiding his wounds.
Ouch!

First hotel stay

We checked into the hotel the night before we were leaving Denver.  We were supposed to go to my stepmom's sister's house for dinner but Indy passed out.  He had an entire hotel bed to himself and I would say he liked it.  He slept from 5:30 until 5:00 the next day.  Unfortunately, we didn't make it for dinner but after the week we had, I let him sleep.

Pirates cove

We went to a small local water park today.  As usual Indy and water go hand in hand.  He splashed around and scared me a couple times by launching into the water.
I told Kevin to bring him in the pirate ship because they wouldn't get wet...I guess I was wrong.  The entire ship drips and splashes the whole time.
This was a shallow kiddy pool that stayed warm and Indy could sit up in.  I originally sat with him in another pool area with a bunch of other families.  Kevin came over and told me to look around, which I did.  I noticed that all the people were facing one direction huddled together.  I then realized a huge bucket would fill on the roof and eventually spill over splashing everyone.  Good thing Kevin warned me, I would have been pretty stunned when Indy and I were in the splash zone!

The wedding day

It was a little stressful but was a beautiful spot and everything went according to plan.  My brother cried when she came down the aisle.  The bride cried and the friend marrying them brought tears and laughter.
Cora was refusing to walk down the aisle so Jenn asked if I could pull some auntie magic.  So, I found someone with candt and bribed her!  I had to walk next to the wedding party but she did it!  I guess when she walked down the aisle she got to the front and turned to her mom and did a thumbs up and said, "I did it, I walked with the girls, down the aisle!"  Of course the entire crowd erupted with laughter.  She then turned and said, "can I have my licorice now?"  Oops, busted!
Indy had a little vest and suit but because it was outside we had his hat on the whole time.  We will have to wait to see the family photos to get the full shot.
The botanical gardens was amazing but what was better was the sculpture art installation that was happening that weekend.  Pretty awesome!
These types of things were throughout the entire garden.  They couldn't have picked a better site!
...more to come!

Happy Father's Day

I wanted to start a Father's Day tradition by getting Indy and Kevin corresponding shirts each year.  This year I went for the Henry Jones Sr shirt and the don't call me junior onsie.  They looked great!  I already have the next three or four planned for years to come!
We had a good day even though it was wedding day.  We woke up and went to breakfast with my dad.  Then we all went frisbee golfing.  Indy really liked the discs, I see more of this in his future.
I just love my daddy and all the cool things we do!
It was fun hanging with my cousin Josh, my dad, and my uncle Frank.  We were all a little rusty but we got through it.  I loved this picture because it looked like an album cover.
There were a ton of prairie dogs all over the course.  It was cool to hear them chirping and popping up out of the ground the whole time.

Good daddy day!  I love my Daddy so much!  He is the best guy a kid could ask for- Indy said that.  It came out bababababababa...but I am sure that is what he said.

Chuck e cheese

Tonight was Landon's fifth birthday at Chuck E Cheese.  Indy actually took a late nap so he was game.   He stayed up until 8!  Let's hope that means he will sleep later than 4 am.
Riding Noah's Ark
Driving a boat.  I got stuck on the back and Kevin had to rescue us.
Bopping the acorns...the nice thing about kids his age is you don't need to buy tokens yet.
He was mesmerized by the animatronic characters.  He just stared with his mouth hanging open.
And open
And still open

And finally a smile

Playing at the park... At 5 am

Jeremy and Maryke asked if we could contain the kids until 8 am so they could sleep.  That was laughable so we took Indy on an early morning stroll and found a park.  He was chilly but had a blast.
This was a new age tettor totter
Going down the slide with Daddy.

Swim naked in my pool

I filled what used to be the dog pool up for Indy today.  We missed swim lessons today because he was still napping so I thought he should get some swim time.  The pool warmed up during his nap and he loved it, my little water baby.
