I'm Bat-Bat

All it takes is a foam "E" and your best Christian Bale voice and you, too, can be Batman (or Bat-Bat as Indy likes to say)!
I've never seen Indy and Batman in the same room.  Just saying

Welcome Elliah Rhys Badik

Ellie-ah Reese is how you pronounce her name.  She was born on December 8th at 12:37 am.  She weighed 8 lbs 5 oz and was 19.5 inches.  She is beautiful and healthy and so far has been a pretty mellow baby.
My original due date was December 8th, according to my period.  Three ultrasounds all said she was due at the end of November so they changed my due date.  So, according to medical records I was a week and a half late but Ellie came right on her own time.
I had started to give up on ever going into labor when I starting having regular contractions at 11 am at work.  I started timing them and they were coming every 5 minutes but were not painful.  It went on like that all day at work and I had given up again when I was getting ready for bed.  I had just texted a friend that I would see her at work in the morning when I felt a pop.  I thought I messed up my hip or pelvis when I felt a bunch of water release.  I started having more intense contractions afterwards and after Indy got picked up we headed to the hospital.  I was admitted around 10 pm and she was in the world by 12:37.  It was very intense and fast.  Her shoulder got stuck in my pelvis and once her head was out she was not coming so the doctor reached in and pulled her out.  Luckily, she has no nerve damage and her clavicle was not broken.  She had poop in her lungs but after suctioning she got to come see her very tired family.  We already love her so much!  She is a very special girl and our family feels even more complete with her in our lives.

Yard work

So much for raking the leaves...

Fun at the Discovery Museum

Indy and I went to the Discovery Museum  to give Am some quiet time to study.  Lots of fun.  He climbed the highest he's been in the cloud climber thing. See...
And Indy got to meet the host of National Geographic's Monster Fish and fellow UNR alum, Zeb Hogan.  Indy made sure Dr. Hogan got all the fish

Happy Halloween!

Am's costume for work....
Hello cabbage patch/green thumb!
Indy, the confused fireman!

Date Night

Am and I had a grown up night.  We went to a charity fundraiser, and Indy got to sleep over at grandpa and grandma's. The fundraiser is called Fantasies in Chocolate.  Lots of fancy costumes and really good chocolate themed treats.  Here's the evidence:
Indy had a great time.
Helping grandpa with the leaves!

Pumpkin Patch

To celebrate the state of Nevada, we headed to Andelin Farms with Chet and company. We rode a hayride, saw two emus, and played in a hay bale maze.
Indy showing off his cowboying skills.
They had a shed full of corn kernels, like a giant sandbox.  We took a few home in his shoes.

Art hour

Indy loves Anna!   He says her name every time we are around anything Frozen related.  I saw some paint kits at the dollar store and picked them up to get in some art time this week.

Donuts

Indy and I had to get up early and go grocery shopping.  I told him he could have powdered donuts if he was good.  This says it all...

A boy and his trucks and towel

Indy sleeps with his construction trucks each night and lately wants to wear his towel around after his bath.  I think he thinks it is a cape.  He will not let us take it off and he falls asleep like this most nights, now there is usually a baseball in there as well.  I keep trying to push stuffed toys but he is a decided young man.

Balloon Races

We may look tired but we made it!  We got up and watched the balloons fill and take off into the air.
This was Indy's favorite.
Kevin likes the Yoda and Darth Vadar balloons.
I just like watching my family have a nice morning together.

Look ma, glasses

Indy has a pair of play glasses from my old job.  He found them the other day in the toy box.  They are a little crooked but he looks darn cute in that button up with some specs.

Trick or treat practice

I found a smaller version of the plastic pumpkin buckets for Halloween.  I thought we would practice with fruit snacks so Indy knew what to do this year. We brought his little doorway into the living room and I would tell him to knock, then I said trick or treat and gave him a snack in his pumpkin.  He did not get it!  He would take the snack out and put it in a pile next to his bucket.  We will keep working.

Painting

I realized I haven't done many arts and crafts with Indy lately.  So, we went to the dollar store and Indy picked out a paint set, of course it was Frozen.
The kid may love trucks but Anna, Elsa, and Olaf are a close second!
He may not be Picasso but he was very clean about the whole process.

Yep, mom gave me donuts

Kevin was out of town for a bachelor party and Indy and I had a great morning together.  We woke up and went grocery shopping and he actually helped.  He pushed the cart and only put in things I said okay to, except he added bacon and some craft singles, both of which I figured we could use.  He pushed the cart with some help and even helped load up the conveyor belt.  The girls at checkout loved him and he would get pretty silly when the pretty nagger would thank him for handing her a bag.
So, I let him have a thing of powdered donuts.  He grabbed them to his chest and would not let go.
We have a pretty happy kid on our hands...or maybe it is all the sugar!

Boys doing some man's work

Zeppelin keeps getting into the trash so we finally had to install the permanent gate.  Kevin and Indy did some drilling and hammering together.  Kevin really kept his cool when things were not going smoothly.  I kept waiting for him to make me take Indy but he let him help the whole time even though it takes twice as long with Indy's "help".

Juniper Rhys

Well, we got confirmation that it is a girl.  I will post the video soon.  We are probably going to name her Juniper Rhys Badik.  There is already a lot of nicknames being thrown out.  Juno, Juni, junebug, berry, June, which is the only one I don't like.  Here she is.

Fireman Indy

Kevin and Indy went out to play frisbee golf on Sunday and stopped at the grocery store on the way home.  There were some firemen buying groceries and Indy got so excited yelling  "guck" which is what he calls trucks that they let him go on the fire truck and gave him a badge sticker and hat.  We had to listen to the fire truck song a lot that afternoon.
He looks like a real firman with all that coco puff chocolate on his face.  Looks like he is covered in soot!

Summer head shaving

So recently we had a traumatic head shaving experience when I didn't realize the clippers had no attachment and buzzed most of Kevin's hair off!
Oops!  I laughed at first then I cried!  Kevin went to the barber and they asked, "what are we doing today?"  He just removed his hat and said, "anything you can."  I thought Indy might be traumatized by the whole experience from watching us but he was a champ about his haircut on Sunday.  He watched daddy trim his beard and started patting his head for his turn.  We plopped him on the counter and he sat there stoically while daddy clipped away.
He is such a champ and he looks so handsome and grown up with his buzz cut!

Siblings

Look familiar!  This is both my children in the womb at 6 months.  Indy is on the left and Juniper (maybe- I am feeling a little apprehensive of the name lately) is on the right.  They look pretty similar, big lips, big eyes, and big ears!  But she has a little different nose.  We will see...I wonder if she will be fair or dark like me.  13 weeks and we should know!

Take me out to the ballgame

He was really hitting the ball well.  Normally he tries to hold the bat with only one hand but he was perfecting his form.  He would hold a pose after each hit.
The national anthem
And the most important part of any ballgame, rolling down the grass seating are.
