My original due date was December 8th, according to my period. Three ultrasounds all said she was due at the end of November so they changed my due date. So, according to medical records I was a week and a half late but Ellie came right on her own time.
I had started to give up on ever going into labor when I starting having regular contractions at 11 am at work. I started timing them and they were coming every 5 minutes but were not painful. It went on like that all day at work and I had given up again when I was getting ready for bed. I had just texted a friend that I would see her at work in the morning when I felt a pop. I thought I messed up my hip or pelvis when I felt a bunch of water release. I started having more intense contractions afterwards and after Indy got picked up we headed to the hospital. I was admitted around 10 pm and she was in the world by 12:37. It was very intense and fast. Her shoulder got stuck in my pelvis and once her head was out she was not coming so the doctor reached in and pulled her out. Luckily, she has no nerve damage and her clavicle was not broken. She had poop in her lungs but after suctioning she got to come see her very tired family. We already love her so much! She is a very special girl and our family feels even more complete with her in our lives.
