At softball

Finally Kevin had a softball game early enough for Indy to go watch.  He was enthralled but had a breakdown when I would not let him go on the field.  Luckily, there was an empty field and we got to run around in there throwing the baseball for a while.
He was pretty much copying anything Mark would do.  When Mark sat, Indy sat, when he clapped, Indy clapped and when he cheered, so did Indy.  It was pretty funny to watch him mimic someone other than us.  I think it is safe to say the kid likes baseball, no surprise there!

Goodbye Odin

It is hard for me to even write this blog without tearing up.  My dog, Odin, whom I had since I was 21 was euthanized on Friday.  It broke my heart.  He was otherwise healthy but had bladder cancer and was urinating in the house regularly and had blood in his urine often.  We finally decided it was time and it was a super hard, terrible decision and I feel a ton of guilt and remorse about it.  I left work a little early and took him to the river to take a walk and swim one last time.  We went to the vet and Kevin and I held him while they gave him a blackout drug before euthanizing him.  We were with him when his heart stop and I barely held it together.  My heart is broken and will take some time to heal.  I feel like my family is missing a peice and he will be missed.  Love you ol' boy.

Father's Day

I got together with a couple of friends and we made concrete stepping stones with the kids' feet in them.  I figure I will do one for both kids every year until we have a nice path.

Big shirt

Indy put on Kevin's shirt and would not take it off.  He even made Kevin put it back on after getting changed for the day.  Silly boy!

Baseball

Walking to the game and he has his glove.  He has really been into catch with dad.

It is summer

Which means lots of bbqs and beach days!

Playing harmonica

Indy discovered the harmonica recently.  He like to sit on the porch steps and play the harmonica, which he does pretty well, and make music with dad.

Giving a great smile

Indy and his Grandpa were playing trucks and took a break on the couch together.  I asked them to turn and smile and I got an intentional grin!  He is starting to recognize the camera.

Getting fit

I
If the baby won't let you work out then use him to your advantage.

Squats together

Baby B

Well, I guess I better make the Badik blog about more than just Indiana!  Baby b was a little bigger than expected at the ultrasound so instead of December 8th I am now due November 28th.
Head, ribs, and femur.
All that bright white on the head is the baby's teeth.
Little hands and full face shot.
Otherwise healthy and doing well.  Felt the first kick this week.  Indy was leaning on my belly and the baby was already shoving its brother out of the way.

First beach day 2015

Indy loved the beach last year but was a little apprehensive about the sand this year.  He kept acting like it was quick sand and if he sunk he was stuck and could no longer move.

The best part of the day was watching Indy kayak with Kevin.  The first trip out he was very still and careful.  The second trip he was leaning over into the water, paddling, and making me very nervous!

Helping dad with chores

Indy was alternating brushing the dogs with Kevin.  He thought it was pretty funny when all the hair would float through the air.
Then they cleaned the turtle cage.  Little does Indy know we are just training him for his future chore.
